Support is very Good!!!! quick response! Very good rc simulator

I have imac version 12,1 core i5 16gb ram and AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB and i had error screen. I was so frustrated for that! I have contacted support and less than 1 hour they answer and give me the solution ! When run the first time set your default language to english(if is not setting yet) them disable show tips. After that you can put your default language(other than english). Very good rc simulator ! cheaper than windows version!!!

Poor simulation: App Store not making refund option avaiable

I have just purchased yesterday 18th of may 2015, the standard version of aerofly RC 7. It took me almost 24 hours to download, and I just installed it. I didnt like it at all, and app store is not offering me the option for a refund (as it always do, and as I know I have the right to!) The simulation of this version is extremely poor, I cannot edit parameters of the planes nor the helis (giving more or less commands for instance). THe manual says there is a “model editor” and it does not exist! At least not in the version I have purchased. For heli flying, which is my main interest in sims, there are a LOT of important things lacking. This is not good at all. I cannot use the rotor inversion, or curves for rotor and pitch variation, giro configurations, so on This is very very poor comparing to other sims I have used in the past. I would like a refund, as the product did not corresponded to my expectations. And I would like to know WHY Apple is nto making the refund avaiable not even right after I have installed it!! As I tried to uninstall and have a refund around 5 minutes after I Installed it. Thank you very much for your attention; I`ll be waiting for a response on how to procedd for my refund.

Not enough info

The flight simulator seems to have the potential to be fantastic. What is missing is the proper information on how to connect the computer to teh controller. I have a brand new 27” iMac and spectrum DX6i and a DX8, and I cant seem to make either one of them work to controll teh program. Whats more frusterating is the ikarus website is also very unclear. More information on how to make these things work would be VERY helpful

Spektrum Connection

Excellent R/C flight simulator. To connect a Spektrum DX5e you need a USB dongle (purchased separately from IKARUS website) and connect to your Mac in the correct sequence (see IKARUS forum for help).

Poor Visual

I am not impressed by this software! The model is realistic enough, but the view of the model is not realistic. In fixed view the model gets too small to see. in follow me mode, I can control the model in circuit flying, but when I attempt to fly inverted, I cant tell if the camera is moving or the model, I loose perspective of what is really happening. I have only purchased the basic model however I am not going to waste money upgrating as this just is not helping me to learn to fly. It does not perform anything like the Phoenix that I see on Utube videos. I wish Phoenix had a MAC version.

aerofly rc 7 - r/c flight simulator

before a few day i bought this game ! no so fantastic ! waste of money 52 us dollar ! i would like to recomend if u wants to buy this fgame please get a trail free and see did u like it really or not ! i dont like ! there is nothing in this game ! …nirmal

Not bad, support from producer is week for OSX

Let’s wait for other versions and better OSX compatibility; Would be great to add more models or convert from older software versions;

Unfit for purpose - inadatta allo scopo

Zero fidelity in physics simulation for helicopters and quadcopters. Guess what? No loss of height to be balanced by the pilot when doing translated flight or turning compared to hovering, this sad mess is useless in order to learn to fly an hell and is equally useless when learning to fly a drone. Not only this program is way too expensive for its level of functionality, it can be considered at “videogame level” at best, and provides ZERO usefulness as a teaching or learning aid. You won’t learn to hover with this expensive and useless toy.

Awesome R/C Flight Sim on Mac

I recently upgraded from AeroFly5 to AeroFly R/C 7 Ultimate and it is simply awesome…And, like its predecessor, it has been designed from the ground up to run natively in the Mac OS-X environment. Many other R/C sims that claim to run on a Mac require that they be run in windows using bootcamp or in a virtual windows environment via Parallels etc. And now, AeroFly has made it even more convenient for us Mac users by making the program available through the Apple App Store. The three tiered upgrade path allows you to get started with a basic setup at a economical price and provides for easy expansion as your interest and skills grow. As an owner of AeroFly5, I was able to do an in-app upgrade to the Ultimate Edition of AeroFly RC 7 for only an additional $12 by providing the AeroFly5 software key code. The developers at AeroFly have taken great pains to make the flight physics of this simulator extremely realistic. For example, the density of the atmosphere even changes in relationship to altitude - such that the top speed of the model will actually increase in the thinner atmosphere of higher altitudes. This flight sim has provided me with many, many, hours of enjoyment flying the huge assortment of aircraft and exploring the large variety of photorealistic sceneries of great R/C flying sites from the United States, Europe, and the World. Highly recommended!

A big step up from Aerofly Professional Deluxe

An easy install, recognized my controller (transmitter via USB) immediately. Graphics is a big step forward, with smooth animation at maximum frame rate on my 2008 Mac Pro. The basic version that you buy initially doesn’t have as many models as I expected, but enough to get lots of practice while the weather does not favour taking a real model out. There are a lot of useful options - I find the challenges especially useful - balloon popping, limbo and precision landings. It’s easy to just zoom around with a simulator, but when there’s a specific objective, you quickly learn your limitations. I expect to upgrade at least to RC7 Professional - it will be good to have better tools to learn helicopters, and a lot more models and landscapes. There are few model flight simulator choices for Mac flyers - this one meets my needs and I can see my flying skills improving each time I fire it up.

Aerofly RC7

Good value for the money. This is the best RC flight Sim for a MAC. I enjoy the practice flying. If I want more models or fields to fly I can always upgrade. For my money, I am glad I bought this RC SIMULATOR. Its really cool that It can use two pilots and controllers at the same time. Good Sim, Great value for the money. Five Stars.

Looks cool but controller won’t work.

The website claims that RealFlight InterLink Controller works and it recognizes it when I plug it in but doesn’t recognize any of the controls when I try to calibrate it.

Buyer Beware!

I wrote Ikarus to find out if a specific scenery was available with the Professional version. Instead of answering my question they told me to wait until the following week when their website would be updated to list the models and sceneries for each version. I patiently waited for the website update and the 4d scenery I wanted was listed under Professional. I bought the Pro version via an In-App purchase and the scenery in question was not enabled. I wrote them again, at which time I was told I’d have to upgrade to Ultimate. I replied sending along an attached screenshot of the listing showing the scenery listed under professional. They are now ignoring me. I won’t give Ikarus another penny.

aerofly RC 7 Standard version

I have been a RC airplane pilot, model builder and designer for over 50 years. I have been a qualified RC airplane flight instructor and precision RC aerobatics pilot for over 40 years. The graphics, flight physics and wind physics in this simulator are good and pretty much emulate the ‘feel’ of flying an RC airplane. This simulator still falls short in the area of field of vision compared to what is viewed, or viewable, at an actual flying site. For me, the field of vision that best approximated the real field vision was when ‘Keep ground in view’ was selected from the View menu or by the Shift+G key combination. I did not find the Landing Assist useful. Landing practice could have better implemented by setting up the limbo pole at the threshold of the centerline of the runway. Also, if the balloons, used in the balloon bust, were tethered to the center of the runway, they could have acted as a landing training guide. A transmitter with a USB-Interface-adapter or transmitter-like USB controller is a must for learning to fly RC. This simulator is as good at preparing someone to learn to fly RC airplanes as any of the Windows RC flight simulators I’ve owned, used or seen. The absolute HUGE plus is that it runs well on my older (2011) MacBook Pro. A major glitch is that it often ‘hangs up’ on exit and ‘freezes’. To make it easier to close, I leave a folder open on my desktop. That allows me to do a command+tab key combination to return to the desktop where a Force Quit... can be accomplished. The Standard version is a good learning aid and good value.

VERY Buggy

I have had Aerofly 5 for a while and i have loved it. The one bad thing was it ONLY worked with a very specific USB connector or a IKARUS game commander you could not use any other controller, like the RealFlight Interlink controller Etc.. THis version support is that, which is great, but the interlink controller switches do not operate the way they should. For example, i should be able to flick a switch to enable flaps, that is not the case, i have to fop the switch then flip it back in order to do so??? The app also LOCKS UP CONSTANTLY, and i have to force quit at least 5 times a session., really annying and still has not been resolved, this happens on all my machines by the way.

junk

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!! others on the market waaaaaaayyy better!!!!! had one of the windows compatable sims and it was more worth the money. this randomly refuses to recognize its own controller & also freezes sometimes. product support is a nightmare in comparison as well.

Good Sim but needs a little more work.

The first thing i noticed about this simulator is the sound effects, they are terrible on the helicopters and some of the planes. If you want a good laugh, fly the quad copter that’s included in the basic version and force it to crash, just go up a little bit and land hard and you will see the most amazing display of impossible physics that will have you doing it over and over and laughing until your sides hurt. The flight physics for the most part are pretty good. Autorotations are too easy on the helicopters, but they fly about like the real thing. Overall I love the Sim, they just have a few bugs to work out of it. I hope they leave the little quad alone though, it’s just too fun to crash. I just have the basic version so I don’t know if things are any different in the ultimate or pro versions. Well worth the investment of $45 for a decent flight sim, not too many choices for the Mac in RC flight simulators.

This is not a program meant to teach you flying from the ground up

I started with Aerofly 5, and recently upgraded to this. When it works, its great, but if youre just starting out in the hobby (and who needs a product like this more than a novice?), the whole thing is strangely intimidating. Right now I cannot get the helicopter throttle to operate. Im sure theres a logical explaination, and Ive contacted support, but to be frank, theres nothing in the program or the manual to talk you through anything. Youre just given the program, and its up to you to figure out everything you need to know to understand the controls.

GOOD JOB

I BOUGHT THE EASY CONTROLLER AND IT LASTED A WEEK. CALLED CANNOT GET A REAL PERSON TO TALK TO. THEY WONT RETURN CALLS SO I EMAIL THEM AND THEY RETURN MY EMAIL A MONTH LATER AFTER SEVERAL TRYS. I RETURNED IT OVER 5 WEEKS AGO AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR A NEW ONE. THEY TOLD ME IT TAKE A COUPLE WEEKS. YOUR NUTS IF YOU THINK THIS IS A COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. AFTER THE POINT OF SALE YOUR ON YOUR OWN. IT SEEM SO EASY TO PLEASE YOUR CUSTOMER. BY THE WAY THIS IS THE ONLY USB CONTROLLER YOU CAN USE. WHATS A PERSON TO DO. HAS ANY ONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM. DEALING WITH A APPLE DOWN LOAD YOU WOULDNT THINK THIS WOULD HAPPEN. PLEASE PASS THE WORD……..!!!!!!!!!!!???????

Application crashing?

I have been getting a lot of crashes recently, not of models but the application crashing before it finishes loading the map or new model, and just randomly after a crash/reset. Very frustrating!
